C The Difference

Is there anything Vitamin C isn’t good for? Maybe not a papercut, but other than that, it’s pretty stellar stuff in all of its forms. Naturally, as an esthetician, one of my favorite Vitamin C forms is a skin strengthening serum. Here’s why:

VITAMIN C PLAYS DEFENSE

1. Protects Against Free Radicals

Extrinsic (environmental) pollutants cause our skin cells damage. Fortunately, the benefits of vitamin C in skin care help protect against free radical damage which slows visible signs of aging. Free radicals are chemically unstable, unpaired electrons that hunt down other electrons in an effort to stabilize themselves. All bodily cells are vulnerable, but skin cells take the brunt, which eventually shows up in the mirror.

VITAMIN C CREATES GLOW

2. Brightens Your Complexion

Vitamin C inhibits an enzyme called tyrosinase. Tyrosinase  is responsible for converting tyrosine into melanin, thus preventing hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C, which requires routine use to maintain results, visibly brightens by evening skin tone and strengthening skin. Strong skin is better able to retain moisture and regulate melanogenesis, which in turn becomes balanced. Balanced melanogenesis means clear, even toned skin as mottled discoloration fades. Pretty cool series of events, right?

THERE’S A C FOR EVERYONE

3. Types of Vitamin C you want in your topical skincare.

A potent antioxidant, and key player in collagen formation, Vitamin C comes in multiple forms whose benefits work for every skin.

L-Ascorbic acid is the purest form of vitamin C and provides superior antioxidant defense compared to any of its acid derivatives.

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), has been used for many years to control melanin synthesis.

Newer stabilized derivatives of vitamin C, including magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl glucoside, and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate are used to control melanogenesis (our skin’s melanin production factory). All of these derivatives have been shown to inhibit tyrosinase synthesis and activity.

IS ANYTHING BETTER THAN VITAMIN C?

Over time, preventative Vitamin C, originally introduced in skincare as a power preventative, visibly improves skin clarity, skin texture, and the appearance of fine lines. It is a mainstay of an age fighting home skin care regimen.

I’M A DIY GIRL, CAN I CRUSH VITAMIN C TABLETS AND RUB THE PASTE ON MY FACE?

No. No, you can’t. Manufactured products are scientifically engineered with formula stability, skin structure, skin pH and safety in mind. It is highly likely that not only will you burn your skin, you’ll reap zero benefit and face months of barrier repair.

I’M A MULTI-TASKER, CAN I APPLY MY AHA AND RETINOID PRODUCTS WITH MY VITAMIN C?

With an alpha-hydroxy acid, cautiously, yes, but the product manufacturer guidelines prevail. Some manufacturers have special balanced formulas that mesh retinol with C but that is a proprietary balance of chemistry that should not be assumed for 2 separate products. When in doubt, ask or stick to Vitamin C in the morning and your retinoid at night. During the day, commit to a broadband sunblock to prevent photodamage.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY MY VITAMIN C SERUM?

Decide whether you want to apply your Vitamin C am or pm and stick with it. During the day, commit to a broadband sunblock to prevent photodamage.

HOW QUICKLY SHOULD I REALIZE VISIBLE RESULTS

Everyone’s routine and skin condition is different, but you may see visible improvement in skin texture, color and tone within a few days. Lines and wrinkles will take several months to improve significantly if your home routine is cohesive. During the day, commit to a broadband sunblock to prevent photodamage.

Words on Inspiration

Find Inspiration in Unexpected Ways

As we navigate the ebbs and flows of life, at times we tend to feel stuck. Do you feel like you are in a creative slump lately? If so, what you may be missing is the right type of inspiration. It is easy to be motivated by deadlines and finances, but this doesn’t really work when it comes to your creativity, whether you use it for hobbies, art, your daily life, writing, or even in your job. Here are some unexpected ways you can find inspiration.

Get Writing

Start writing absolutely everything down. Try the stream of consciousness form of journaling where you just write whatever comes to mind. Write good idea and bad ideas, write fiction or poems, write detailed to-do lists, and write what you did today. Write about your goals and dreams, write about your strengths and weaknesses. Write about your accomplishments and failures. This is a really effective way at learning more about yourself and understanding where and how you got stuck, and why you ended up in a creative rut. It’s a great way to release the overflow of information that can constantly run in our minds.

paintjpg

Read Something New

Always keep reading and learning! Reading provides some amazing benefits when you feel stuck and uninspired. The trick here is not to just stay in your own reading comfort zone. Find a different genre, a new author, something you never thought you would be interested in. Go to a completely different section of the library or book store, pick up something at random, and just start reading. It stimulates new thoughts that may be just what you’re looking for to be inspired.

Find New Surroundings

If you do the same thing every day and always see the same thing, it can be really hard to find inspiration. Especially when the gray Cincinnati weather hits! Go outside, find a new place to explore, and change your surroundings. This alone can be amazing for getting inspired, and getting some brand new ideas. Spending time outside, no matter what the weather, is always good the the body, mind and soul. There is a natural energy field that emanates from the earth. Walking outside lets you tap into this energy and can be invigorating.

Reduce Your Distractions

You may also be dealing with a creative slump due to all the distractions in your life. Start reducing them if you feel they are causing creative blocks, from things and situations, to people. A great way to do this is to sit quietly for 10 – 15 minutes every day. Turn the volume off on your cell (but you can still set the timer). Close your eyes and feel your breath. Nothing is that urgent that is has to happen at a moments notice. Give yourself this “adult time out” and you’ll gain clarity and calm.

Practice Self-Care

For so many years I neglected this truly important act. I think as women, we are raised to give and led to believe it’s selfish to be concerned with ourselves. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Sometimes we have to put our spouse or children or job etc…, you name it, first, but that leaves the sometimes you need to put You first. You are not just a mother or father, friend, neighbor, executive or co-worker. You are a human being that has needs you need to take care of yourself, including your physical, mental, and emotional health. You can’t fill from an empty cup. If you are depleted, you have nothing to give. Practicing self-care can help you relax and help with gaining more clarity. When you are replenished, there is more to give. If you are giving from an empty place, it could even cause one to feel resentment, and that’s not good for anyone. So take time to take a relaxing stroll while listening to your favorite music, book a massage, stop for coffee, or my favorite, have a facial of course!

With the holidays rapidly approaching, find your inspiration and make sure you enjoy your life to the fullest.

12 Popular Healing Crystals

12 Popular Healing Crystals

If you are someone like me that has an avid interest in natural health, you have likely considered using healing crystals. While the term crystal is often confused with others, it is essentially just a type of raw form of gemstone. You probably recognize a lot of the more common gemstone names like amethyst and rose quartz, but don’t realize many of these have healing properties. If you’ve been in for a facial lately, you’ve no doubt experienced the high vibrations of my healing stones.
When you are working on natural healing, it is good to incorporate a lot of different forms of healing, from herbs to essential oils. But don’t forget about the crystals! As you start collecting healing crystals, such as the ones described here, you will hold them in your hand or place them on different parts of your body. This helps to remove negative energy and promote healing in those areas of the body.
Here are 12 of the more popular healing crystals and some information about the healing properties they each possess.

IMG_1809

1. Quartz

This is definitely one of the most common and popular crystals to use for healing powers. What you will find is that there are many forms of quartz, including rose quartz which is also on this list due to its unique healing powers. But when you just see ‘quartz’, they are usually referring to the basic quartz, which is a clear and almost translucent crystal. Clear quartz is an all around good stone to start with as it can be used on a number of issues.
Healing Powers of Quartz
Quartz helps with improving your focus, alertness, and stimulating your brain function. It is often used to provide general positive energy, helping you feel body and making you more conscious during work and school. It is also great because it is easy to get ahold of.

2. Onyx

Next on the list is onyx, an interesting black crystal that usually has more of an opaque appearance. You will find onyx used a lot in jewelry as a black gemstone. Onyx, like quartz, comes in different colors, but we are talking about the dark, black onyx here.
Healing Powers of Black Onyx
With black onyx, you will use it when you are experiencing emotional stress in most cases. It can help with high amounts of stress and anxiety, or when you are grieving after losing a loved one or pet. It can also help with confusion, as well as provide some physical benefits like improving your stamina. If you feel like your energy is being drained from emotional causes, black onyx is a good crystal to have on hand.

3. Amethyst

Amethyst is a beautiful gemstone that also works great for a healing crystal. It is the birthstone for February and is often used with zodiac signs like Aquarius, Capricorn, Virgo, and Pisces. This crystal comes in different shades of purple, depending on the rock it comes from.

Healing Powers of Amethyst
Amethyst provides some of the same benefits as quartz since it is a type of quartz, including improving brain potential and alertness. It is also frequently used to help with the lack of energy and headache pain from hangovers. You can also use amethyst when you want to connect a little better with your spirituality.

4. Labradorite

You may not recognize the name of labradorite, but you should definitely become more familiar with it. This is a type of feldspar that comes in vibrant colors, usually multi-colored. It has colors like blues and purples, often with flecks or streaks of green, yellow, and red. Some labradorite can also have brown or grey in it. It looks like it has black, but that is actually just a very dark purple or blue.

Healing Powers of Labradorite
Labradorite can help a lot with your intuition, being used if you want to find what psychic abilities you have. You can use it to help with your level of consciousness, protect your aura, and help you with changes in your life. It is excellent for increasing your perseverance through struggles you might be going through.

5. Blue Agate

Agate on its own can be a powerful healing crystal, but this often comes in a yellowish orange and brown tinted gemstone. While agates themselves are excellent for protection and emotional strength, we want to go over a type of agate called blue lace agate, or blue agate.

Healing Powers of Blue Agate
This healing stone is used very often when you have chakra healing done with different stones and crystals. It is of course a blue crystal, which is often used for throat chakra. In throat chakra, you are improving your voice, opening it up and clearing it. You can use this for physical and emotional expressions and improve the positive energy in this part of your body. Blue lace agate is also great for balancing out the positive energy in your body.
You will see blue agate frequently used in necklaces or chokers, since it sits on your skin close to your throat.

6. Aquamarine

This is a beautiful healing crystal that many people are familiar with. You might have chosen a pair of earrings or ring with aquamarine because you enjoyed the beautiful blue-green appearance, but had no idea of its healing properties. Aquamarine looks like the sea, so it helps a lot with promoting calm and relaxation.
Healing Powers of Aquamarine
When you use aquamarine as a healing crystal, it can balance out your emotions and help with relaxing you in times of stress or anxiety. It can clear your mind, so it is great for holding onto during a meditation session. In chakra healing, aquamarine is used with heart chakra to help you with your self-expression and find your identity.

7. Topaz

This is one of those excellent gemstone crystals that comes in a wide range of colors and varieties. You should know that each type of topaz does have some unique healing properties and benefits, but any topaz will also have the general healing powers.
You can find topaz in a colorless form, similar to quartz. It is also frequently found in oranges and browns, red, pink, yellow, green, and even a bright blue color.
Healing Powers of Topaz
Topaz is all about restoring positive energy in your body and removing the negative energy. When you need motivation and to be re-charged, this is a good healing crystal to use. It can help with many things affecting your body’s energy, from healing and soothing physical ailments, to providing joy and abundance when you need it. If you need to forgive someone, it can help you find peace with that as well.

8. Jade

If you have ever purchased a piece of jewelry with a gemstone that isn’t translucent, but more of a solid, matte appearance, you might have jade. Aside from onyx, this is one of the only healing crystals that looks like this. It is a deep green crystal, though some are darker or lighter. Jade is often used in Asian-inspired designs and has been used as a good luck charm for many years.
Healing Powers of Jade
So what can jade help with? It is the crystal to use when you are setting goals and trying to manifest positive dreams. Jade stands for transformation, so people will use the crystal when they have fears they are trying to get rid of, as well as work on their future self. You can also use jade for encouraging feelings of generosity and courage. Jade his also wonderful on the skin. You can use it to massage in your serums.
With jade, it is all about finding a more fulfilling life.

9. Rose Quartz

If you were born in April-May or September-October, you might be a big fan of rose quartz. It is often associated with Libras and Taurus’s. Rose quartz is a type of quartz that has more of a pinkish hue. This is also frequently associated with love and romance, often being a gemstone people put in jewelry that they will gift their significant other. However, it has many other healing properties as well.
Healing Powers of Rose Quartz
When you use rose quartz, it will provide a relaxing and calming atmosphere. If you have a lot of negative energy that you feel is harming your emotional energy, this is a good crystal to use. You can also use it to help promote a healthy relationship and secure the bond between you and a loved one.
Rose quartz is a good healing crystal for yourself or to give to others. It also makes a good apology gift for a loved one to improve the positive energy between the two of you.

10. Obsidian

Obsidian is another darker stone, which is often confused with black onyx. It can be a black, translucent crystal or a very dark green that looks nearly black. Obsidian comes from volcanic glass, and is formed when lava from a volcano cools.
Healing Powers of Obsidian
With obsidian, you get physical and emotional healing properties. For physical benefits, it is excellent with arthritis and joint pain, as well as any extremity pain, muscle cramps, and even indigestion. Many people also use obsidian when trying to detoxify their body.
There are also emotional healing powers, including protecting your energy and blocking psychic attacks. It is good for tension and stress, as well as anxiety. If you have a lot of confusion, you can gain more clarity with obsidian.
You will also get other healing properties, depending on the type of obsidian you use. There is golden obsidian, which is best for protection and balancing the energy in your body. You can get black obsidian for self-control and resolving negative thoughts, or mahogany obsidian for helping with your aura.

11. Lapis Lazuli

Lapis lazuli is another healing crystal often chosen for jewelry and accessories based on its vibrant color. It comes in a brilliant, royal blue color, but with flecks of gold and other colors interspersed in the crystal. Lapis lazuli is a semi-precious gemstone that comes from a blue metamorphic rock.
Healing Powers of Lapis Lazuli
You should use lapis lazuli as a healing crystal when you are having trouble with finding yourself and mental clarity. It is perfect for achieving a higher level of consciousness and better awareness of yourself. This is also used in throat chakra for healing crystal chakra treatments. In addition to self-awareness, lapis lazuli can also help you with finding your communication and creativity. If you have harmful energy, it will replace it with positive energy.
You can use lapis lazuli in a stone that is in its raw or polished form by holding it in your hand or against your throat, or wear it around your neck where it is used throughout the day for positive energy.

12. Citrine

The last healing crystal we want to talk about is citrine. If you were born in November, you might have had birthstone jewelry with the bright orange color of citrine. Both bluish-green topaz and orange citrine have been associated with the November birthdays.
Citrine is powered by the sun, so you will see that a lot of its health properties have to do with light and sunshine.
Healing Powers of Citrine
Cleansing your aura of negative energy is one of the bigger health benefits of citrine as a healing crystal. It will provide happiness and joy to your life, bringing out your inner light, and providing you with positive energy. You can also get more focus and clarity when you use citrine, along with energizing your body and mind.

Hope you enjoyed this information on the many powers of crystals. Text or call 513-304-0257 and book a crystal facial to experience them yourself.

Why Collagen For Healthy Aging?

Why Collagen for Healthy Aging?

People are asking, why collagen for healthy aging? Healthy aging doesn’t try to reverse the clock, but it allows you to age gracefully. You remain as healthy as you can as you get older and try to avoid premature signs of aging, like sun damage to your skin, and lines and wrinkles. As you age, your skin loses its elasticity and can cause wrinkles and other issues. If you are looking for a way to boost your anti-aging efforts, collagen just might be the solution.

Improve Skin’s Elasticity

images-3

This is perhaps to the top reason you should try using a collagen supplement to help with anti-aging and reduce the signs of aging on your skin. When you get older, the collagen breaks down in your skin, which can then lead to a reduction in your skin’s elasticity. This is the ability to stay tight and bounce back. Unfortunately, without much elasticity, your skin will loosen, which increases the risk of wrinkles and deep lines.
This can happen prematurely if you have a lot of sun exposure, don’t take care of your skin, are not eating nutritious foods, or just from the natural aging process. With collagen, you are replacing some of those amino acids, allowing to tighten up your skin and possible even smoothing out some lines and wrinkles.

Reduce the Signs of Sun Damage

The sun’s UV rays can be very damaging to your skin, not just with potential sunburn and sun spots, but overall unhealthy skin. Excessive sun exposure can actually cause the collagen in your skin to break down at a more rapid pace, leading to many other issues with signs of aging. One of the things that collagen does for your skin is help to protect it from these negative effects, and reverse some of the damage that the sun has already done to your skin.

Ways to Use Collagen for Healthy Aging

You probably already know the main way to use collagen for anti-aging, which is to use a collagen supplement. These come in powder form, and allow you to quickly add them to a hot or cold drink, which then dissolves so you can drink it. It won’t cause any type of flavor, smell, or color to your drink; the collagen dissolves instantly.
There are also some masks that have come out for your face that use collagen, such as sheet masks and peel or wash-off masks.

Collagen Supplements, Yes or No?

Collagen for Health

You have probably heard of collagen here and there, possibly from friends or co-workers, but what exactly is it? The collagen you see in stores, particularly health food stores or even online, is a powdered form of collagen that you actually already have in your body.
Why do you need a collagen supplement? Because it can break down in your body over time, which might cause symptoms like joint pain, premature signs of aging on your skin, and gut health issues.

What Exactly is Collagen?

First thing’s first – let’s discuss what collagen is. This is a type of protein in your body that exists to help keep tissues together. It is often found in parts of the body where you have connective tissues, such as your joints, muscles, and even your skin and scalp.
Since it can break down over time, you might need to supplement with a powdered form of collagen, which luckily is very easy to use and now due to its popularity, easy to find as well.

What Can it do For You?

The reason collagen is so popular is because of how beneficial it is for your skin and body. When you don’t have enough collagen, it affects you in ways you might not have even thought of. The following information is going to give you an inside look into the 7 top health benefits of using a collagen supplement.

bone-625340_640

1. Healthy Skin and Hair

The first health benefit of collagen happens to be one of the most popular and widely known advantages. You might have heard about collagen when doing research on anti-aging, or wondering why at a relatively young age, you are showing signs of aging like looser skin and wrinkles.
The reason might be lack of collagen. Yes, collagen is found in your connective tissues like your joints, but did you know it can also be found in your skin? It helps with the outer layer of skin, which is usually elastic in order to remain tight.
However, when you start losing collagen, the elasticity goes with it. As your skin loosens – even before you see a big difference – you start to get wrinkles and lines.

Aging is Not Always Permanent
What you might not know is that some signs of aging are not permanent. If you have wrinkles and lines due to a loss of elasticity in your skin, finding a way to tighten it up just might reverse the signs of aging, allowing you to age more gracefully.
This is what collagen can do for you.
When you start using collagen on a daily basis, it can not only help with your skin’s elasticity, but it can also help you to retain more moisture in your skin, which as you know, is vital to protecting your skin from premature signs of aging.
There are many types of collagen, but for your skin, collagen peptides is the most popular option. This is good news, since it is easy to find!

Collagen for Your Hair

Before moving on to the next health benefit, you should know that collagen might also help with your hair. Your skin needs collagen, but that is not just on your face and body; don’t forget your scalp is skin too. You need to take good care of it just like your face, otherwise you might experience dry scalp, itching, breakage, and even thinning of your hair.
If you notice issues with your hair texture or the thickness, it might be due to needing more collagen. So, while you are using collagen to help your skin and other health conditions, you could also get the added benefit of increasing hair growth as well.

2. Stronger Nails

While we are talking about natural beauty benefits related to collagen, why not talk about your nails? Collagen can also help with your nail condition, most notably if you struggle with weak, chipped, and cracking nails. This is not usually a sign of not taking good care of them on the outside, but more about your health in general.
Issues with your health affects so many things, so when something is weak and brittle, like your nails, it is often a sign you are missing an important nutrient.

How Does Collagen Help?
With a collagen supplement, you are helping to provide essential nutrients and amino acids to your nails. This can help them strengthen, which greatly reduces the risk of having them break in the future. It is similar to the effect of using biotin for hair, skin, and nails.
Keep in mind that you might not notice these changes for several weeks, so keep using your collagen daily – you will soon notice a difference.

3. Improved Digestion and Gut Health

Moving on to another set of health benefits are your gut health. Gut health is another big topic for the health industry lately. Why? It is not an increase in people’s digestive issues, but more an increase in what scientists have discovered, as well as more natural and home remedies to help with your gut.
No more do you need to struggle with conditions like leaky gut and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) as there are a lot of more natural options that are far more beneficial than any medications you could be taking.

Collagen for Your Gut Health
Collagen can help many gut conditions, but it has been especially useful with leaky gut syndrome. When you have leaky gut, nutrients are passing right through your body, without being properly absorbed. This along with many negative side effects like nausea, upset stomach, fatigue, and bloating, can make life extremely difficult to deal with.
When you start taking collagen each day, you might notice a difference in how your stomach feels. Maybe you don’t have as much diarrhea and constipation, or you experience a relief in the bloating you have been dealing with.
Another good thing about collagen for gut health is that you might not need as much of the supplement for your gut. While you can still use the powdered form of collagen, you might also see benefits with bone broth.

How to Know Your Gut Needs Help?
For some people, they either don’t notice little changes with their digestive health, or it has been going on so long, they didn’t realize there was something they could do about it.
Have you ever told people you “just have a sensitive stomach?” It is very possible that this is true, but you might also have a gut that just needs a little TLC. Symptoms like constant nausea, constipation and diarrhea, stomach cramps, bloating, and just overall discomfort of the belly are not normal, and most likely related to a gut condition.

salmon-518032_640

4. Reduced Joint Pain

You need collagen in your body as it helps with the connective tissues like tendons and ligaments, so what happens when it starts breaking down? You start feeling the pain in certain areas of your body.
If you have noticed an increase in joint pain recently, such as more stiffness in your joints when getting up or bending your knees, or just general joint pain, it might be from a loss of collagen.
The collagen in your body is in a gel-like form, similar to gelatin. This helps your bones and joints to work together, gliding from one position to another, without incident. When you feel stiffness, pain, or hear creaking when moving your arms or legs, this could be from not having enough of that collagen to move things along.
Not only can collagen supplements help with joint pain and stiffness you are already experiencing, but some studies are being done to show a positive effect in preventing or reducing the risk of degenerative diseases.

5. Prevention of Heart Disease

While there is still some research being done on this benefit, studies have shown that collagen can also affect your cardiovascular health. Collagen provides essential amino acids to your body, which are very important when it comes to the fat buildup in your arteries and bloodstream.
As you know, this could potentially increase your risk for heart disease. With collagen, you are getting the benefit of helping to shrink fat in the arteries thanks to these amazing amino acids. There has also been some evidence to show that your blood pressure can be reduced with tissue repair thanks to the collagen in your connective tissues.
This is an amazing and possible life-saving health benefit even when you are using collagen primarily for other purposes.

6. Boost in Brain Health

Yes – collagen can also help with your brain health! This is when specific types of collagen come into play. There is a type of collagen, type 4, that helps with the tissues around your heart, organs, and brain. This is the collagen that can be useful in helping to protect your brain health by reducing your risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s disease currently has no cure, though there are ways to reduce the risk of getting it. One of them might be collagen, as studies are showing excellent progress.

How Does it Help?
With more collagen in your body, you are allowing those tissues to be protected around your brain, which might just prevent Alzheimer’s, or at least prolong it.
It never hurts to have these added benefits with something you were already going to take every day anyway.

7. Protection of Bone and Muscle Health

The last health benefit that is worth noting is protection of your bones and muscles. This probably comes as no surprise since we have been talking about how collagen helps protect the connective tissues around your ligaments, muscles, tendons, and joints. It works in a similar way to help with your muscle health and even prevent bone loss.

Did You Know?
Your bones are actually made up primarily of collagen. This is what makes your bones so strong and able to withstand a lot of weight and pressure. As you age, the collagen gradually breaks down and deteriorates, which is why you become at greater risk for bone-related conditions like osteoporosis.
It can also mean a higher risk of breaking bones even in minor accidents that previously would not have caused such a serious injury.
In order to protect your bones, you need to be sure you have enough collagen production in your body, which sometimes means using a collagen supplement.
Improve Your Muscle Mass
The other benefit is that it might help boost your muscle mass. Muscles also have a high amount of the collagen protein in them, so it makes sense that you would lose muscle mass as you lose collagen in your body. As you age, it becomes even more important to take a collagen supplement.

Combat Environmental Aging

What is Environmental Aging ?
Our world is getting increasingly dirty. Skin-aging atmospheric stressors are everywhere, from pollution; exhaust fumes, and industrial smoke, to ozone, extreme weather and free radicals. Scientists now say that day-in; day-out exposure to these atmospheric stressors is aging our skin.
Pollution ages your skin
The truth is, skin exposed to daily toxic pollution becomes prematurely aged, weakened, dull, dehydrated and sensitized.
Recent dermatological studies show:
• The formation of lentigines (Liver Spots)increases with levels of traffic-related air pollution and air pollution-associated gases (1)
• Living in more polluted areas have significantly worse skin hydration (1)
• Living in more polluted areas show depleted vitamin E and squalene levels in the skin (2)
• An increase in atmospheric soot is linked with 20 percent more pigment spots on the forehead and cheeks (1)
• Soot, particles from traffic, and background pollution are associated with a more pronounced Marionette Lines!

Pollution is omnipresent
Unlike UV rays, which disappear when the sun goes down, or can be avoided entirely by staying indoors, pollution is everywhere. Car exhaust, ozone, smoke and free radicals are inescapable, no matter where you live. That’s why it is crucial to protect skin on a day-in, day-out basis from the negative effects of pollution.

Eventually, loss of tone in the facial muscles happen to all of us as a result of age.  Lifestyle choices  and genes also play a factor in how early you lose elasticity and begin to sag. In a world of instant photos instantaniously making their way around the world, it pays to look your best.  The NuFACE Trinity Pro is right for you.

If you notice a slight downturn at the corners of your mouth or deeper folds some refer to as marrionette lines…or even a slight sagging of the jowl area.  The Trinity Pro is a non surgical alternative to a face lift, and it’s catching celebrities attention, from Kathy Lee & Hoda to P. Diddy – click here to see P. Diddy in action – https://www.facebook.com/rejuvenatewithangela/posts/448771541999255.

The NuFACE Trinity Pro visibly lifts eyelids and sagging jowels and sculpts cheekbones.  It is a professional strength model only sold by licsened professionals and it works.  As a licensed esthetician, I recommend the NuFACE Trinity Pro to acheive real and lasting results in facial toning and sculpting.  It’s user friendly, light weight and portable enough to travel with.

What is Microcurrent?

Microcurrent is one of the hottest innovations in the anti-aging industry and is used in top spas and medical offices for facial contouring, toning and firming of aging skin. Microcurrent is a low-level current that mimics the body’s natural current and can provide both instant and cumulative results. Because microcurrent works sub-sensory, the treatment is soothing and most clients feel nothing at all.
It is a safe and effective technology for clients who wish to attain and maintain a healthier, younger looking appearance. The results can be so dramatic that microcurrent treatments are often referred to as a 5 Minute Facial-lift.
Origin of Microcurrent
In 1980, a Chinese doctor, Thomas W. Wing. fifth generation Chinese Doctor introduced a microcurrent instrument which was found to be beneficial in the treatment of muscles. It was approved by the FDA as a muscle stimulator, but found an unexpected benefit in the Beauty industry for cellular rejuvenation, facial toning and wrinkle reduction.

How Does Microcurrent Work?
Microcurrent is an alternating current that is used with an oil free gel that conducts the current through the facial muscles. It’s capable of facial stimulation by sending a gentle current through the skin, tissues and down to the facial muscles. Microcurrent has been shown to stimulate ATP production, in turn, creating collagen and elastin. The lack of collagen and elastin is what causes skin to sag and then we look older than we need to. ATP is the vitality of your cells.
